THIS IS MY STORY
A girl from a small town in Northern California. People call me Bree, I am a 19 year old who is obsessed with success. From a young age, I have always known that one day I want to be successful. I have been involved in pageantry since I was one years old. Ever since then, I have loved the stage! I started competitive cheer at the age of 5 and fell in love with the sport. I competed in pageants and cheer for 6 years. Until I decided I needed to take my athletic career another step further. At the age of 9, I switched to the California Allstars, which is the best cheer gym in norcal. Unfortunately, I had to give up pageants, because my new gym required my full commitment. Being involved in pageantry and competitive cheer has taught me to persevere, work hard, and be my most authentic self. I have grown into an amazing young woman, because of these sports. Then in January of 2019, my life changed forever. I ruptured my achilles tendon and was completely heartbroken. This injury ended my competitive cheer career. One year of recovery to get back to where I was physically. This injury took one of the biggests tolls on my mental health. Going on 10 years of nonstop cheer to one day not having my “get-away” space taken away wswas heart wrenching. I was blessed to have a light in that dark tunnel. I was fortunate enough to come back to pageants, where I have met some of the most beautiful, intelligent, and life long friends. People always say that even in the darkest times, you can find your happiness again! I did not believe it at the time, but it is so true. That same year, I lost my amazing cousin to suicide and since then I became even more passionate about being an active advocate for mental health. I created my platform, “#YouAreEnough” where I strive to help young girls and boys from all over the nation be aware of mental health and ways to take care of their own mental health. Fast forward in 2022, I lost another beautiful friend to suicide. I am now more passionate as ever to be an advocate. I have been in the lowest of lows, so I understand how fast someone's mental health can deteriorate so fast. I am now the happiest I have ever been! I was able to graduate highschool 6 months early and I am proud to say I am part of the small percentage of kids who graduate early. I have graduated cosmetology school, where I love helping people feel their most beautiful. I did not only go to cosmetology school full time, but I was also dual enrolled part time at my local junior college. I strive to transfer to UCLA after my 2 years at Delta College is done to be apart of their highly competitive nursing program. I hope to obtain my BSN where I will move on to get my Masters to become a nurse anesthetist. All while being a successful hairdresser! I am excited for my future career, but I am also still working on my craft in the modeling industry. My story may seem crazy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
